The Training Course
The initial course is generic and most importantly practical. This allows us to give people the skills required for the majority of roles we have in hardware and networking. By asking people to attend this course it allows us to quiz the commitment of the individual and builds confidence and relationships.
We undertake contract specific training when candidates will either be trained on site or be asked to return to Crewe. This could be to cover things such as Retail EPOS installations through to mounting of Audio Visual equipment.
Once you have completed the course you will possess the necessary skills and knowledge for effective customer support of networked PC systems and common peripherals, together with a sound foundation on which to build further product training.
The course includes assessments for Cerco’s exclusive Cerco Certificate in Systems and Networking (CCSN), which is recognised by our employer partners as an entry-level qualification for systems service technicians.
The course covers many fundamental topics and therefore prepares delegates to go on to achieve other certification such as the CompTIA A+, Network+, MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional), etc.
No prior formal computer training is required but you must have awareness of, and some familiarity with, the PC’s hardware and use of PC systems, and you must possess suitable aptitude as assessed through our entry quiz.

Cerco employees are known for their customer friendly attitude and positive approach. All candidates that pass the quiz will be invited to a telephone interview. This is your opportunity to show your enthusiasm for the role and ask any questions that you may have.
You will be contacted about an interview if you pass the quiz. Please present yourself as if you are going for a job interview.
Candidates that pass Cerco’s early assessment stages are invited to a one week (5 day) training course at the company headquarter in Crewe, Cheshire. After assessment and depending on experience you may be placed into a role as soon as one is available. If you successfully pass but don’t have any relevant paid experience free training will be offered.
The course covers theory and practical training in computer hardware, operating systems, networks, communications and printers. You will also cover useful topics to support your employability including health and safety, customer care, CV/letter writing and interview techniques.
Successful completion of the course will give you the Cerco Certificate in Systems and Networking (CCSN) which is recognised by Cerco’s employer partners.
The training course is free to attend but you will have to pay for your own accommodation, travel and food. Cerco can provide information about local hotels or other inexpensive accommodation.
You will also be asked to pay for a DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service previously known as CRB) that employers require at the cost of £52.
